Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival in Nairobi

An AA Safaris guide will pick you upon your arrival at Nairobi airport and take you to Hotel Rudi where you will spend the night today. Its 15 minutes away from Wilson airport and has 15 exquisite fully furnished suites in a private villa plus a beautiful garden. Facilities accessible from Hotel Rudi include Karen country club, Karen Blixen museum, giraffe center, Mamba village famous for its crocodile farm

Day 2: Masai Mara game reserve

In the morning start the drive to Masai Mara game reserve located close to the border of Tanzania. This national reserve harbors one of the great wonders of the world; the Great wildebeest migration that happens annually where in July-October 2 million wildebeests migrate through this park to the Serengeti park in Tanzania alongside predators like lions, leopards, cheetahs, hyenas following to look for prey.

Mara Eden Safari Camp will be your home for the next two days.

Day 3: full day game drives in Masai Mara game reserve

Enjoy a full day game drive in the game reserve. An early morning drive when most predators have just woken up and are up for hunting is best for you since the sun will soon be rising. After breakfast, return into the wild for the entire day. Lunch will be pre-packed so you can enjoy a picnic in the wild.

Return in the evening to the Camp and relax with a cold drink and dinner as you overlook the Mara River calm waters.

Day 4: Boat safari on Lake Naivasha

As you drive out of the park enjoy one last game drive before you head to Lake Naivasha where you will reach for a late lunch. Go for a relaxing boat safari on the lake where you will closely see water birds like kingfisher, pelicans, herods and hippos.

Later on, check in to Lake Naivasha sopa resort. It has 21 cottages built in a crescent shape, and each has 4 rooms, 2 on the ground and 2 at the top, which totals to 84 rooms. 2 of these rooms are suitable for the physically challenged. 6 of the 21 cottages have interconnecting rooms on the ground floor. Take a dip in the resort swimming pool, or engage in tennis at the tennis court.

Day 5&6: Enjoy an en-route game drive as you head to Amboseli National Park, full day game drives in Amboseli National Park

Enjoy the game you see coupled with the vegetation though the roads are dusty on your way to Amboseli National Park via Nairobi. Have lunch then head into the park for an afternoon game drive. Its famous for close range elephants and has inhabitants like blue wildebeests, cheetahs, spotted hyenas, impala, masai giraffes, impalas.

In the early morning, view the Mt Kilimanjaro and take photos of the sunrise and animals as they too start the day. Return to the camp for the afternoon and you can take part in swimming at the resort.

Day 7: Welcome to Tanzania

Enjoy one last game drive as you drive out of the park. Be driven to Namanga border by your Kenyan guide/driver and meet your new Tanzanian guide/driver who will help you finish all border formalities then drive you to Ilboru safari lodge located on the lower slopes of Mt Meru where upon arrival you will receive a complimentary drink. take on a shopping spree in one of the two gift shops at the camp.

Day 8: Safari in Tarangire or Lake Manyara

TOURS DEPARTING BETWEEN JANUARY – MAY OR IN NOVEMBER- DECEMBER WILL VISIT LAKE MANYARA NATIONAL PARK ON DAY 2

Day 8 A: Lake Manyara National park

Go out of the park on a drive to  “Mto WA Mbu” village for a cultural tour that involves moving around this farming community as you tour through farms, schools, churches, markets and with 18,000 locals who have diverse cultures from 120 tribes. Visit the wood workshops where the Skilled Makonde carpenters carve wooden intricate household items, masks and figurines. Enter the local markets and put your haggling skills to use especially when buying vegetables, fruits, meat and spices in their stalls.

Live at Manyara Wildlife safari camp for the night;

BETWEEN JUNE AND OCTOBER, AA SAFARIS RECOMMENDS YOU GO TO TARANGIRE NATIONAL PARK ON DAY 2 INSTEAD.

Day 8 B: Tarangire national park

Start your morning with a game drive in this park. It is well known for its large herds of elephants which gather at the Tarangire River to drink. For birders, there are more than 500 bird species to watch. This park is the only place in Tanzania where you can spot gerenuk and oryx, outside the Serengeti it has the largest wildlife population.

Sangaiwe tented lodge will be you home away from home for the night.

Day 9&10: Travel to Serengeti National Park, Full day safari in The Serengeti 

Visit the Serengeti national park since its one of the tour highlights. With the most extensive wild game population on earth with a pure undisturbed ecosystem. The Serengeti has three sections; the North (Lobo area), South (Seronera valley) and the West corridor. The great wildebeest migration can be seen in the North area which is one of the most fascinating natural events worldwide. You can now return to your hotel for the evening.

You will set off for a whole day out in the Serengeti with close up opportunities during the drives in the wild.lets do this early morning when most predators have just woken up and are up for hunting. Visit Seronera valley that has the lions and mongoose spending time there. Lunch will be a pre-packed picnic. Return to Tortilis camp for the night.

Day 11: Safari in the Ngorongoro Crater

Today’s morning game drive will be as you drive out of the park towards the Ngorongoro crater for an afternoon game drive. Within the crater, you will see cheetahs, jackals, Thompson’s gazelles, flamingo, and uniquely the Big 5; lions, elephants, buffaloes, rhinos, leopards. As well as for those who enjoy birding as an activity, there are around 400 bird species to add your drive.

Optional activity: Hot Air balloon safari

Float over the beautiful scenery of the Serengeti seen with a bird’s eye view. This activity will best be done early morning before dawn so that you see the nocturnal animals heading to water shores to quench their thirst before they retire to sleep. When you land in the middle of the park, enjoy a bush breakfast with champagne.

Day 12: Departure or Holiday extension

Depending on what time your flight out is, you can take part in optional activities around Arusha town at your own expense.

The driver/guide will then take care of your transfer to Kilimanjaro airport. This is only possible for flights after 3 PM. If you need an extra night in Arusha please let your AA Safaris consultant know.

Mara Eden Safari Camp will be your home for the next two days. It is on the banks of the Mara river thus captivating you with untamed wilderness experience. The tents are placed by the river banks enabling undistracted bird and wild game viewing from the tent verandahs at all times as the animals come to drink water. Tea and coffee are available every time of the day. All the tents have hot and cold running water in the bathrooms, flush toilet, 24 hour solar lighting and tasteful décor. 
Lake Naivasha sopa resort.

Kibo Safari Camp
Kibo Safari Camp will be your luxurious housing for two nights. Located at the foot of Mt Kilimanjaro , it is the best place to spot kili. it has an open terrace restaurant set under acacia trees with fresh fruits and vegetables served from the camp garden. All tents have flush toilets, showers, and wash basins. 
Ilboru safari lodge
Ilboru lodge is located on the lower slopes of Mt Meru and is popular to Kilimanjaro mountain climbers and travelers to northern Tanzania. Upon arrival you will be welcomed with a beverage and hot towel to clean your face. While here, enjoy the swimming pool, complimentary Wi-Fi, gift shops and the botanical gardens that attract birds.Enjoy your cottage with a balcony overlooking the gardens.
Manyara Wildlife safari camp
Live at Manyara Wildlife safari camp for the night; located on the rolling grasslands and it stands out because it gives a perfect view of the Rift Valley escarpment and overlooks Lake Manyara. The camp has an infinity swimming pool, fully equipped sports bar and an upstairs lounge. 
Sangaiwe tented lodge
Sangaiwe tented lodge will be you home away from home for the night. Located near the new Sangaiwe gate to Tarangire National Park with stunning views over Lake Burunge. Before walking uphill to the boma, receive a complimentary drink and towel then check in at the reception. Take a guided walk around because the wild game wanders around the boma so you can view some as you stand on the hill. It overlooks Tarangire national park so your game drive can start at the hill foot. Enjoy the outdoor pool as you relax during the day.
Tortilis Tented Camp
Named after the distinctive Tortilis tree of the Serengeti, this tented camp combines comfort with the real Africa safari experience. Country Inn Lodge Karatu
Spend the night at Country Inn Lodge Karatu located on the outskirts of Karatu, on the Great Escarpment, in the centre of Northern Tanzania’s green belt district and farming community. On site is a gift shop, internet facility, a swimming pool, and outside seating so you can enjoy the garden’s breeze whilst having a refreshing drink. The spacious rooms are 2 in each cottage with en-suite bathroom (toilet & shower), a fireplace, and a veranda with chairs & table. The 22 rooms are furnished with king and twin beds (with space for a third bed), mosquito netting, bedside tables & lamps, and writing desk & chair.
