Itinerary

day 1: Welcome to Uganda

Upon arriving at the Entebbe International Airport in Uganda, you will be greeted by a driver from AA Safaris. They will take you on a tour of Entebbe town and then drive you to your hotel in Kampala for the night.

This safari tour offers the opportunity to visit some of the most breathtaking and unique locations in Uganda. You will start by visiting the Ziwa Rhino sanctuary, where you can see these majestic creatures up close. Then, you will head to Murchison Falls National Park, where you can take a wildlife drive and a boat ride along the Nile River. Next, you will visit the renowned Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, home to the endangered mountain gorillas. After that, you will have the chance to relax and take in the stunning surroundings of Lake Bunyonyi, where you can go on a canoe ride. This tour also includes visits to the cities of Kampala, Fort Portal, and Kabale, giving you the chance to explore and experience the local culture. Overall, this tour is packed with exciting activities and breathtaking sights that will create unforgettable memories.

Days 2-3: Murchison Falls Road Trip with Game Drive and Boat Cruise

Day 2: After breakfast at the hotel, you will start your journey to Murchison Falls National Park with a stop at the Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary. Here, you will have the chance to track rhinos in their natural habitat for several hours. Be sure to bring insect repellent, long pants, and closed shoes for this experience. After lunch, you will continue on to Murchison Falls, the oldest national park in Uganda. The falls, where the Nile River flows through a narrow canyon and plummets dramatically, creating a stunning rainbow effect, are a must-see.

Day 3: Wake up early for a game drive in the park, where you will see a variety of wildlife including kobs, antelopes, elephants, waterbucks, lions, giraffes, and hippos, as well as many bird species. In the afternoon, you will take a boat ride on the Nile River and have the opportunity to spot hippos and crocodiles along the banks.

Days 4-5: Fort Portal and Queen Elizabeth National Park Tour with Exploration of the Park

Day 4: On this day, you will take a road trip to the city of Fort Portal, located in the shadow of the Rwenzori Mountains. Fort Portal is known for its warm, quiet, and green environment. You will have lunch at a local restaurant before exploring the tea plantations and taking a sightseeing tour through Queen Elizabeth National Park on your way to your accommodation.

Day 5: After breakfast, you will go on a wildlife game drive in Queen Elizabeth National Park, where you will see a variety of animals including lions, elephants, warthogs, antelopes, and buffaloes in their natural habitats. After returning to your accommodation for lunch, you will go on an afternoon boat ride on the Kazinga Channel. Here, you can observe various bird species and see waterbucks, hippos, and crocodiles along the banks of the Nile River. You will also have the opportunity to go crater lake exploring.

Day 6: Chimpanzee Tracking in Kyambura Gorge

On Day 6, you will be driven to the park headquarters for a briefing before embarking on a morning of chimpanzee tracking in Kyambura gorge. This gorge is located within the Maramagambo Forest, which is known for having the highest number of primate species in East Africa. You will spend the morning observing the chimpanzees in their natural habitat and learning about their way of life. After lunch, you will take a tour vehicle to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park.

Day 7: Mountain Gorilla Tracking in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park

Bwindi Impenetrable National Park is home to over 360 mountain gorillas, making it a must-see destination for any nature enthusiast. On this tour, you will have the opportunity to track one of the 13 mountain gorilla families and observe their daily activities such as hunting, feeding, resting, and climbing trees for fruit. It is important to remain silent, avoid flash photography and mimicking the gorillas’ sounds, and maintain a distance of at least 6 meters while tracking the gorillas. The tracking can take anywhere from 2-9 hours depending on the gorillas’ movement. After the tracking, your AA Safari guide will drive you to Kabale town for the night.

Day 8: Lake Bunyonyi Scenery safari

After breakfast, you will take a short drive to Lake Bunyonyi, the second deepest lake in Africa. You will spend the morning enjoying a 2-hour boat cruise on the lake, and have the opportunity to go hiking and see the beautiful views of the surrounding islands. During the hike, you may spot various bird species.

Day 9: Return to Entebbe airport

After breakfast, your AA Safaris guide will take you on a drive back to Kampala, with a stop in Mbarara for lunch. You will also make a brief stop at the Equator for photo opportunities and some shopping before continuing on to Kampala, where you will be dropped off at a hotel for the night.
