Welcome to Tanzania: Day 1 Adventure Begins.

This tour is only available for a limited time each year, between June and December, due to seasonal weather conditions. Upon arrival at the Kilimanjaro International Airport, you will be greeted by a representative and transported to your lodge for the evening.

Exploring Arusha National Park: Day 2 Includes Walking Safari and Game Drive.

On Day 2, you will embark on a journey to the beautiful Arusha National Park. The park boasts of Mt Meru as one of its main attractions, as well as the Meru crater, Ngurdoto crater, and Momella lakes. You will have the chance to spot a variety of wildlife, including buffalos, giraffes, black and white colobus monkeys, and small predators. On a clear day, you will also be able to catch a glimpse of the majestic Mt. Kilimanjaro.

The day will start with a guided walking safari with an armed park ranger, where you will get up close and personal with the animals, including zebras, buffalos, waterbucks, bush-backs, warthogs, baboons, and a variety of bird species. The walk will take you across the Jekukumia River, where you will visit a waterfall and learn about the different animals, trees, and animal food from your guide.

After the walking safari, you will go on an afternoon game drive by the Momella lakes, which between May and October is a pink paradise due to the thousands of flamingos and other water birds that flock to the area. You will have the opportunity to see the lakes up close and learn about the different species that call it home

Journey to Lake Natron National Park: Day 3 Adventure

On Day 3, you will embark on a journey to the picturesque Lake Natron National Park, located in the Northeast of Tanzania, at the lowest point of the rift valley and at the base of Tanzania’s only active volcano, Oldonyo L’Engai. The drive to the park takes about 4-5 hours, but be sure to keep your eyes open for baboons, zebras, gazelles, ostriches, as well as birds like kites, vultures, and starlings.

Lake Natron is a 58 meters long and 50cm deep lake that is a breeding ground for birds due to its alkaline properties that deter predators. From June to November, about 3 million flamingos gather at the lake to breed, making it a spectacular sight to see. You will have the opportunity to walk along the lake shores to see the flamingos up-close.

South of the lake, you will have the chance to view the unique Ol Doinyo Lengai volcano, which is the only volcano on Earth to spew black lava. The volcano is a fascinating sight to see and provides a contrast to the other natural wonders in the park.

Exploring the Masai Culture and Natural Beauty: Day 4 Includes Village Walk and Waterfall Hike.

On Day 4, you will return to Lake Natron for a different kind of adventure, exploring the local Masai community in the Ngare Sero village. The walk will take you through the village to learn about the traditional way of life of the Masai people, including how they live and herd cattle in this barren landscape. Along the way, you will have the opportunity to spot some of the wildlife that the area is known for, such as lesser kudu, oryx, and flamingos. After the walk, you will return to camp for lunch.

In the afternoon, you will embark on a guided hike to the Ngaro Sero waterfalls, which is located through a gorge and requires crossing the river several times to reach the first falls. After a 20-minute hike, you will reach the second waterfalls, where you can take a dip in the chilly water and enjoy the natural beauty of the area. The waterfall hike is a great way to experience the unique blend of culture and nature in the Lake Natron region.

Exploring the Wilds of Tarangire National Park: Day 5 Features a Game Drive

On Day 5, you will start your morning with a game drive in the scenic Tarangire National Park. The park is renowned for its large herds of elephants that gather at the Tarangire River to drink, making it a popular spot for wildlife enthusiasts. The park is also a bird-watcher’s paradise, with over 500 bird species to spot. Tarangire National Park is the only place in Tanzania where you can spot gerenuk and oryx, and it also has the largest wildlife population outside of the Serengeti.

During your game drive, you will have the chance to spot a variety of animals, including lions, buffalos, leopards, impalas, warthogs, elands, and waterbucks. The park’s diverse wildlife and picturesque landscapes make it a must-see destination for any nature lover.

Experience the Culture and Traditions of a Local Village: Day 6 Includes a Village Tour.

On Day 6, you will leave the park and embark on a cultural tour of the farming community of “Mto wa Mbu” village. The tour will take you through farms, schools, churches, markets, and introduce you to the 18,000 locals from 120 different tribes who live there. You will visit wood workshops where skilled Makonde carpenters carve intricate wooden household items, masks, and figurines. You will also have the opportunity to visit the local markets and put your haggling skills to use, especially when buying vegetables, fruits, meat, and spices in their stalls.

The tour will also take you to the nearby Lake Manyara National Park, one of the smallest parks in Tanzania, but it has the only evergreen forest in the country. The park is home to baboons, water birds like flamingos, pelicans, and migratory birds like the grey-headed kingfisher. Visitors can also spot tree-climbing lions which is a unique feature of the park. The village tour and the visit to the national park will offer a unique blend of culture and nature, making it an unforgettable experience.

Exploring the Best of the Serengeti and Ngorongoro: Day 7 Includes Game Drives in Both National Parks.

Day 7 is a highlight of the tour as you will explore two of the most iconic national parks in Tanzania, the Serengeti National Park and the Ngorongoro crater. The Serengeti is known for its large herds of wildebeest, zebras, and gazelles that migrate through the park, as well as its big cats like lions, leopards, and cheetahs. The Ngorongoro crater, on the other hand, is a unique caldera that is home to a diverse array of wildlife, including elephants, buffalos, zebras, and the endangered black rhino.

During the game drives in both parks, you will have the opportunity to see a wide variety of animals, as well as learn about the unique ecosystems and habitats of the Serengeti and Ngorongoro. You’ll also have the chance to see the Great Migration of wildebeest, zebras and gazelles in the Serengeti, which is a once-in-a-lifetime experience. The game drives are a great way to experience the best of what these two national parks have to offer.

Immersing in the Wilds of Serengeti National Park: Day 8 Dedicated to Whole Day Game Drives.

On Day 8, you will dedicate the entire day to exploring the wilds of the Serengeti National Park through game drives. The drives will give you the opportunity to get up close and personal with the animals, and to witness their behavior in the wild. To maximize your chances of seeing predators hunting, the game drive will start early in the morning when they are most active.

One of the highlights of the day will be a visit to the Seronera valley, known for its high concentration of lions and mongoose. A pre-packed picnic lunch will be provided, so you can enjoy a meal in the heart of the park. The whole day game drive is an excellent way to immerse yourself in the beauty and wonder of the Serengeti and to get a deeper understanding of the natural world.

Exploring the Beauty of the Serengeti and Ngorongoro: Day 9 Features Game Drives in Both National Parks.

On Day 9, you will continue to explore the beauty of the Serengeti National Park and the Ngorongoro crater through game drives. The morning drive will take place in the Serengeti, before you drive out of the park towards the Ngorongoro crater for an afternoon game drive.

The Ngorongoro crater is home to a diverse array of wildlife, including the Big 5; lions, elephants, buffalos, rhinos, and leopards, as well as cheetahs, jackals, Thompson’s gazelles, flamingos, and around 400 bird species. This is a great opportunity to see a variety of animals and to learn more about the different ecosystems and habitats within the park.

As an optional activity, you can also take a hot air balloon safari early in the morning while it is still dark, to see nocturnal animals going to water shores to quench their thirst. In the middle of the park, you can enjoy a bush breakfast with champagne while floating over the beautiful scenery of the Serengeti with a bird’s-eye view.

Saying Farewell: Day 10 marks the end of the tour with Departure.

On Day 10, it’s time to say farewell as the tour comes to an end. Depending on the schedule of your international flight out of the local airport, you may have the opportunity to take part in an optional activity to wrap up the safari experience.
