Itinerary

Day 1: Transfer to Parc National des Volcans

You will be picked up by the safari guide who will give you a briefing and after transfer to Kigali for the city tour. You will visit many attractions including; the genocide memorial museum, the Nyabugogo market, a pottery project, the Moslem quarter in Nyamirambo, and the Franco-Rwanda cultural center. Have lunch and later drive North of Kigali to Parc National des Volcans, dinner, and an overnight at the lodge.

Day 2: Gorilla trekking

This day, you will have an opportunity to spend time with the endangered mountain gorillas. You will also have a hike through the green landscape and the hills of the Virunga volcanoes. You will be given one magical hour with these amazing creatures while the guide will explain more about the family and its behaviors. Then return to the lodge in the afternoon to relax and enjoy the breathtaking view of the park.

Day 3: Golden monkey trekking

Have breakfast and then transfer to the park for golden monkey trekking, this activity also gives tourists a pleasure to view the rare species of monkeys. The golden monkeys are little known and endangered species. The Monkeys react and interact differently and will keep on playing hide-and-seek much to the delight of the visitor. In the late afternoon, either carry out the community walks and visit the village projects or local schools, dinner, and an overnight at the lodge.

Have breakfast and later be transferred back to Kigali International airport to find your departure flight.

Expectations

This safari starts and ends in Kigali, it involves tracking the mountain gorillas in volcanoes national park and also offering an opportunity to track the golden monkeys in the same park. You will also enjoy a community walk as well as a city tour in Kigali.

This property is situated 2 hours and a half from Kigali International Airport and only 10 minutes’ drive from the park headquarters. We offer mid-range accommodation for gorilla trekkers. The proximity to the Park headquarters is very much convenient for trekkers, whereas its location offers full breathtaking views of Mountain Sabyinyo and the rest of the Virunga chain of mountains.
