Itinerary

Day 1: Welcome to Uganda

Our representative will pick you up from Entebbe airport and transfers you to Hotel Africana,  In case you arrive early, You will visit the Wildlife Education Centre (UWEC). Please note, all activities for today are at your own cost.

Day 2 - 3: Drive to Kibale Forest/ Chimpanzee Tracking & Swamp walk

Today, you will undertake the journey to green Kibale Forest. The drive is incredibly scenic, passing through tea plantations and the lush green countryside which characterizes so much of Uganda. On arrival in the forest, you will enter a completely different world… some serious monkey business!

Wake up early for the fast drive to the park headquarters where there is a briefing to attend and guide assignment for the chimpanzee trekking can begin. Walkthrough the densely populated forest trails that will take you through the forest to see the chimpanzees live a normal day in their natural habitat, In the afternoon, you will go for Bigodi Wetlands Walk. Here you will explore 8 primate species, over 200 bird species, and many reptiles. During the walk – which takes 2 to 3 hours – you have a chance to many animals but the highlight is catching a glimpse of a famous bird; the Great Blue Turaco.

Day 4 - 5: Drive to Queen Elizabeth NP/ Game Drive & Boat on the Kazinga Channel

Start the tour from Kibale for Queen Elizabeth NP driving to the southwest of the country and cross the Uganda Equator. This spot is a very famous place for taking some pictures. Also, you can be able to buy a souvenir from craft shops around. You will then continue to the Park arriving for an evening game drive.

This morning you will have a game drive along Kasenyi track where you will see animals like different reptiles (snakes, crocodiles), large groups of hippos, buffaloes, elephants, lions, leopards, but also to smaller mammals like antelope, warthogs, giant forest hogs, topis, bushbucks and hyenas. If you drive through Ishasha, the tree-climbing lions will be seen lazing up on big fig tree branches as the day goes by.  A host of primate species like baboons, red-tailed monkeys, and the famous chimpanzee also roams the territory of this park.

You will then return to the Hotel for lunch. The afternoon has for you a spectacular boat on Kazinga Channel where you will see the various amazing birdlife and different types of wild animals as they come to the lake banks to drink water or as they enjoy sunbathing.

Day 6 - 7: To Bwindi Forest/ Gorilla Tracking

This morning game drive to Ishasha sector in search of a tree-climbingyou will spot them on the branches of Fig trees as they look out for Uganda kobs, their favorite prey. Dinner and overnight will be at the lodge of your booking.

After breakfast headquarters for a briefing at 7:30 am about trekking the Mountain Gorilla. You will head into the forest with the help of an experienced ranger, The trek takes between 2 – 8 hours and you will be given one hour to watch the Mountain Gorillas once sighted. In the afternoon if you still feel fit you can go a community walk to see the Batwa people who  live in the Bwindi forest before it was gazetted as a National Park and learn about their life and culture as a forest people or spend the rest of the day relaxing at the lodge

Day 8: To Nairobi via Kigali

Early morning you will drive to Mutanda where you will have lunch. After you will be driven to Kigali airport. Please note that activities in Kigali and accommodation in Kigali are not inclusive in the itinerary. If you would like us to book one (or more) nights in Kigali, please let us know. We highly recommend that you opt for the East Africa visa which allows you to access Uganda, Rwanda, and Kenya in one visa.

You will fly with Kenya airways from Kigali to Nairobi. This one-way flight is included in your tour price! Your flight is at 19:25 and active in Jomo Kenyatta airport at 21:55, your guides will be waiting to transfer you to your accommodation.

Day 9: Lake Nakuru National park

This morning your guide will pick up and drive you to Lake Nakuru National Park. YOu will stop for Thomson Falls and the Rift valley viewpoint from where you can take beautiful landscape pictures. On the floor of the Great Rift Valley, surrounded by wooded and bushy grassland, lies the beautiful Lake Nakuru National Park.  On arrival, you will go for a long game drive in the park to spot lions, buffalos, antelopes, warthogs, and much other wildlife. After drive to your lodge for lunch after you will go for another game drive when the light is the most beautiful to make excellent landscape pictures.

Day 10: To the Masai Mara

You go for an early morning game drive In the Masai Mara Game reserve. An incredible year-round animal concentration and known for its typical short savanna plains. Home to the great migration in the months July – October when two million Wildebeest make their way northwards from the Serengeti in Tanzania. Afternoon you will for a game drive to spot lions, buffaloes, antelopes and hippos, and crocodiles in the Mara River.

Day 11 & 12: Full day game drives in Masai Mara

Some predators can be sported in the morning, That’s why you will be early for cart up with them the whole day.  On the game drive, you will see different predators that might be made a kill last night. You will return for breakfast at the camp while the sun rises over the game reserve.

You can decide to take a packed lunch for a full day game drives or come back to the camp for a hot lunch. The secret on sighting a lot of animals is to do different game drives at different times and areas for the highest success rate.

Day 13: To Lake Naivasha, Boat safari

On your way to Naivasha, you will sport some Wildlife in Masai Mara. Lake Naivasha is popular for its Wildlife including a number of hippos that usually invade our property during their nightly forays for food. Being a freshwater lake, it also has a healthy fish population to include Black bass, Tilapia, and Crayfish which attract a variety of fish-eating birds such as Long-tailed and Great Cormorants, along with Fish Eagles, Pelicans, and various types of Kingfishers. In the afternoon you will do a boat safari on the lake to see the birds and hippos.

Day 14: Departure

This day marks the end of your safari with Arrive Africa Safaris. You will be driven to Nairobi, and transfer to Jomo Kenyatta International Airport.
