The tour begins with a drive to Kibale National Park, where you can observe monkeys on verandas as you approach the forest. You will then embark on a 4-5 hour guided walk through Bigodi, home to 200 bird species including the crested crane and Great Blue Turaco. During the walk, you can engage in activities such as birdwatching, butterfly viewing, and tracking wildlife and primates. You may also spot other animals such as mongooses, wild pigs, bushbucks, sitatunga antelopes, and otters around the swamp. It is recommended to wear sturdy walking shoes for this walk. After your experience in Bigodi swamp, you will be driven back to your booked accommodation. However, if you are interested in experiencing life in an African village, AA Safaris can arrange for you to stay in a local hut for the night at an affordable price.
