Itinerary

Day 1: Pickup from airport/hotel to Lake Mburo

AA Safaris’ guide will welcome you to Uganda, surrounding the land of warm-hearted and always welcoming people, at Entebbe airport and drive you through Entebbe town with an immediate view of beaches, local markets, and small businesses along the road till the highway.  Arrive at Lake Mburo for a  where you will see elands, zebras, giraffes, impalas along with bird species in the surrounding Savannah’s slopes and hills.

Check in to your accommodation for lunch then go to the lake for a boat ride. See hippos and crocodiles lazing at the lake shores. Close by you can see bushbucks, otters, birds in trees and shrubs. Then retire to your lodge for dinner and rest.

Day 2 - 3: Horseback Riding and Gorilla trekking in Bwindi Impenetrable Forest

Have a horseback game ride in the Jungle. Ride a horse alongside wild game like zebras, impalas, elephants, buffalos as they move in their groups to graze or/ and drink water. Start your drive to Bwindi impenetrable national park enjoy the scenery of the western arm of the East African Rift Valley and you can stop here to take photos. Head to your accommodation for the night.

Be driven early morning to the park headquarters where a guide will brief you and then lead you into the gorilla trekking trails to view the mountain gorillas in their habitat living their lives normally. Remember to be quiet so as not to startle the gorillas and cause them to panic because you are an intruder, no flash photography, no mimicking gorilla sounds, and no feeding the gorillas. You will sit at least 6 meters away from the gorillas when the guide gets the gorilla family your group will track. Sit quietly and watch the beautiful gorillas eat, hunt, play with each other. This trekking experience can last from 1-6 hours.  Have lunch then return your Hotel for overnight.

Visit the two crater lakes; lake Kyasanduka and Lake Nyamasingiri on request during your booking.

Day 4 - 5: Kazinga Channel Boat Ride and Bigodi Community Walk

Drive to Queen Elizabeth National Park for game drive and boat cruise. This afternoon upon arrival start the game drive from the south part of the national park through Ishasha where you will see the famous tree climbing lions indigenous to that area of the park. See other animals till you reach your accommodation area then check in, have lunch head for a boat cruise on Kazinga Channel. which gives a illusion of a game drive on water because you will see animals like hippos, crocodiles, elephants on the shores or in the shallow waters of the Kazinga Channel then watch birds sit on the waters as your boat floats by.

Have an early morning game drive which allows you to drive through trails as the wild game wake up to the new day. If you are early enough, you might see the rare leopards and other nocturnal animals before they retire to solitude after a night of hunting. Different game drive trails will lead you to see different wildlife in the parts of the savannah parkland where they spent the night.

Go for Bigodi community walk where you visit the community and engross yourself in the ways of the community especially in arts and crafts, food making, listening to folklore, music and dances. This later will give you an attachment to the area so much so that you will want to visit Bigodi once a year to relate with the locals.

Day 6: Chimpanzee Trekking and Return to Kampala

Have breakfast and go for Chimpanzee Trekking after you will drive back to Kampala however along the way you can make a stopover at the district town centers to do some light shopping.

This 6 day gorilla trekking tour in Uganda will take you on a drive through lake Mburo, Bwindi, Queen Elizabeth national parks as you make memories and take souvenirs of the time spent in the wild, time you took part in trekking the beautiful gorillas, took part in Ugandan traditional culture.

Arcadia lodges were opened in 2004 and are a family run business. We are currently working on opening a few more lodges in other uganda major touristic sites.
