Itinerary

Day 1:Arrival at Entebbe Airport and transfer to Hotel

An AA Safaris tour driver will welcome you to Uganda at the Entebbe International Airport and drive you through the Entebbe town to your hotel for the night in Kampala.

Day 2,3: road trip to Murchison Falls, game drive and boat cruise

His day will begin with you having breakfast at the hotel then the AA Safari driver will start you on the drive to your first national park; Murchison Falls. A drive takes you northwest of Uganda, you will stop at Ziwa Rhino sanctuary where you will track rhinos within the conservation area for hours in the wild created for them by Rhino Fund Uganda and UWA. It is a must for all those interested in rhino trekking to have insect repellent, long pants, and closed shoes. Sit for lunch then continue to Murchison Falls National Park which is the oldest park in Uganda. The sights within this national park are unforgettable especially the falls where you see the Great River Nile squeeze through a 7-meter wide canyon. The plummeting of water causes a rainbow that gives an illusion of being there endlessly.

Wake up early for breakfast and a game drive in the park where you will see kobs, antelopes, elephants, waterbucks, lions, giraffes, and hippos plus various bird species. The guide will take you for a boat ride cruise on the River Nile where you will definitely see hippos and crocodiles along the river banks.

Days 4,5: Journey to Fort Portal to Queen Elizabeth National Park, Explore the park

The day’s road trip is southwest to a district city called Fort Portal located in Mountain Rwenzori’s ranges’ shadow. It’s warm, quiet and green. Have lunch at any clean restaurant chosen by the guide. Drive and see the tea plantations then go through Queen Elizabeth national park for sightseeing along the way to your accommodation option.

The tour guide will, after breakfast, take you for a wildlife game drive in Queen Elizabeth National Park where you will see lions, elephants, warthogs, antelopes, buffalos. Take photos of the wild animals in their natural habitats as they start the day as the birds chirp in the trees nearby. Return to your accommodation area for lunch then go for the afternoon boat ride on the Kazinga Channel. Here, you will see various bird species fly to the river banks, some will be seated on the backs of hippos while others sit on the waters. See the waterbucks, hippos, crocodiles in the River Nile banks. Go Crater Lake exploring

Day 6&7: Chimpanzee tracking in Kyambura gorge, Mountain Gorilla tracking in Bwindi impenetrable national park

Early morning, be driven to the park headquarters for a briefing before heading down the pathways into the Maramagambo forest, famous for the highest number of primates’ species in East Africa, and spend the morning hours in Kyambura gorge following and watching the chimpanzees’ way of life while in their natural habitat. After lunch, hop into the tour vehicle and drive to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park.

Bwindi Impenetrable National Park is the second oldest national park in Uganda and is famous for having over 360 mountain gorillas in Uganda. During this tour, you will spend a morning tracking one of the 13 mountain gorillas family where you will, under the watchful eye of a park guide, will follow one gorilla family as they go about their daily activities like hunting, feeding, resting in the forest, climbing trees for fruit, playing. Please keep silent during the trek so as not to startle the gorillas, no flash photography around the gorillas, no feeding the animals, no mimicking the sounds made by the gorillas and keep a distance of at least 6 meters.

It will take 2-9 hours to find and watch the gorillas depending on their movement. After this activity, the AA Safari guide will drive you to Kabale town where you will spend the night.

Day 8&9: Lake Bunyonyi Scenery safari, departure

After breakfast, you will drive from Kabale to Lake Bunyonyi where you will enjoy a 2-hour boat cruise on this lake which is the 2nd deepest lake in Africa. Go hiking to see the view of islands around the lake, various birds will be seen during the hike. After this, the AA Safaris guide will transport you to Kampala. You will have a stopover in Mbarara for lunch, then at the Equator for photography and a little shopping spree. You will reach Kampala in the evening and will be dropped at a hotel for the night

AA Safaris driver will pick you from the hotel at a pre-agreed upon a time to take you to the Entebbe airport for your flight back home.
