Itinerary

Day 1: FLY FROM ENTEBBE AIPORT TO KIHIHI AIPORT/ DRIVE TO LAKE MBRO NP.

Let an Arrive Africa Safaris tour guided give you a warm Uganda welcome when you exit the Arrivals airport terminal and be escorted to your chartered private plane located either at Entebbe airport or Kajjansi airstrip for the flight to Kihihi airport. Take a short drive to Lake Mburo national park where you will check-in at your lodge then head out for horse ride game drive and a walking safari.

Day 2: Road Travel from Lake Mburo to Bwindi impenetrable national park

Drive to Bwindi Impenetrable national park. Pass via Lake Mutanda where you will go canoeing in a wooden dugout canoe. You can swim too, however, it being the deepest lake in Uganda and the second deepest in Africa, we recommend this activity for only great swimmers. AA Safaris guide can organize for fried Tilapia fish for you as you relax while at the lake.

DAT 3: GORILLA TREKKING IN BWINDI FOREST AND BATWA CULTURE TOUR

Awake early to drive to the park headquarters for a briefing before you set off for the gorilla tracking experience. A guide will take you down well-maintained trails in the Bwindi forest as you look out for the gorilla family you will track that morning. When found, the guide will let you, while at 6 meters distances from the mountain gorillas, sit in silence and watch these creatures go about their day. View them hunt for fruits, tree bark, insects, see them play, groom hygienically, eat, communally. The mountain gorilla tracking can last 1-6 hours or more depending on what the gorilla family is up to that morning. Remember, no flash photography, no feeding the animals or mimicking their sounds. 

After possible late lunch, go on a cultural tour to visit the Batwa pygmies of the forest. See them dance, sing, hear folklore about the Bwindi forest that is their home. Enjoy their cultural memorabilia and shop for arts and crafts.

DAY 4: LION TRACKING AT QUEEN ELIZABETH NATIONAL PARK

Start the drive to Queen Elizabeth National Park after breakfast and using the Ishasha route, do a tree-climbing lion track where you spend time seeing how these big cats climb up fig tree branches and laze there, how they hunt then drive to your lodge for the evening.

DAY 5-6: GAME DRIVE AND BOAT RIDE/ CHIMPANZEE TREKKING

Enjoy a morning game drive through the park and see the wild savannah of Queen Elizabeth national park rise for the day around you. As you drive through the well-maintained drive tracks, watch elephants, buffalos, warthogs, hyenas, move from their sleeping places to hunting and grazing grounds.

In the afternoon, get on the Kazinga Channel for a boat ride after lunch. While on the boat ride, you can buy drinks to accompany your sightseeing hours. While on the Kazinga Channel, its shores will have hippos, crocodiles cooling off in the water, see elephants, kobs, and buffalos drink from the shores. Birders can see some bird species while on this boat ride too.

Head to Kyambura gorge for chimpanzee tracking where these chimpanzees live deep in the rain forest. View and walk by the River Kyambura as you zero in on the wild apes’ habitat to and see the birds that stay close to the gorge. You will see other primates in the forest during the chimpanzee trekking like baboons, white colobus monkeys, and vervet monkeys.

DAY 7- 8 TRANSFER TO MURCHISON FALLS NP/ GAME DRIVE AND HOT AIR BALLOON TRIP

Set off on a drive for Murchison Falls National Park with your packed lunch. When at the park, hike to the top of Murchison Falls to see how beautiful the falls look, hear the rushing might of the water as it hits the rocks and heads down into the River Nile below.

Go on a game drive in the Murchison falls national park where you will view antelopes, elephants, waterbucks, giraffes, buffalos, various bird species. Go on a hot air balloon which lets you have an aerial view of the entire national park, the animals therein and the Great River Nile.

DAY 9: FLY TO ENTEBBE AIPORT

In the morning, be driven to Pakuba airport where you will get onto a private chartered plane to Entebbe airport or to Kajjansi airstrip.
