Day 1: Welcome to Tanzania

Be picked from Kilimanjaro International Airport and be driven to your lodge for the evening.

Day 2A:  Lake Manyara National Park 

Go out of the park on a drive to  “Mto wa Mbu” village for a cultural tour that involves moving around this farming community as you tour through farms, schools, churches, markets and with 18,000 locals who have diverse cultures from 120 tribes. Visit the wood workshops where the Skilled Makonde carpenters carve wooden intricate household items, masks, and figurines. Enter the local markets and put your haggling skills to use especially when buying vegetables, fruits, meat and spices in their stalls. 

Between June and October, AA Safaris recommends you go to Tarangire national park on Day 2 instead.

Day 2B: Tarangire national park

Start your morning with a game drive in this park. It is well known for its large herds of elephants which gather at the Tarangire River to drink. For birders, there are about more than 500 bird species to watch. This park is the only place in Tanzania where you can spot gerenuk and oryx, outside the Serengeti it has the largest wildlife population.

Day 3: The Serengeti drive

Visit the Serengeti national park since its one of the tour highlights. With the most extensive wild game population on earth with a pure undisturbed ecosystem. The Serengeti has three sections; the North (Lobo area), South (Seronera valley) and the West corridor. The great wildebeest migration can be seen in the North area which is one of the most fascinating natural events worldwide. You can now return to your hotel for the evening.

Day 4: Whole day Game drives in Serengeti national park

You will set off for a whole day out in the Serengeti with close up opportunities during the drives in the wild.lets do this early morning when most predators have just woken up and are up for hunting. Visit Seronera valley that has the lions and mongoose spending time there. Lunch will be a pre-packed picnic.

Optional activity: Hot air balloon safari

Float over the beautiful scenery of the Serengeti seen with a birds-eye view. This safari activity will be early morning while it’s still dark so you see the nocturnal animals going to water shores to quench their thirst. In the middle of the park, you can enjoy a bush breakfast with champagne.

Day 5: Game drives in the Serengeti National Park and the Ngorongoro crater

Today’s morning game drive will be as you drive out of the park towards the Ngorongoro crater for an afternoon game drive. Within the crater, you will see cheetahs, jackals, Thompson’s gazelle, flamingo, and uniquely the Big 5; lions, elephants, buffalos, rhinos, leopards. As well as for those who enjoy birding as an activity, there are around 400 bird species to add your drive

Day 6: Departure

Depending on what time your international flight out of the local airport is, you can take part in an optional activity to end the safari.

Guided by an armed ranger enter this scenic area that combines culture and wildlife together on this amazing landscape. See volcanoes, forests, craters all in one place and encounter the Masai people who inhabit the area’s highlands.

Arumeru River Lodge
As soon as you arrive in this lodge you feel the enthusiasm and personal attention of the German owners. The lodge – built on an old coffee plantation - has a large entrance with different places to relax and to have dinner. Escarpment Luxury Lodge
This beautiful lodge is situated on the rift Escarpment on the edge of Lake Manyara N.P. The spacious cottages have an en-suite bathroom with bathtub and outdoor shower! This lodge has a swimmingpool as well. A spreading deck surrounding the main lodge affords you breathtaking views of the lake and the gorge upon which the lodge perches watch pelican sweep the skies as you take sundowners, see the sun slip like a segment of orange into the hills and listen to the sounds of Africa nestle up to you as night slides in.
Eco Science Luxury Lodge
The Ecoscience property is situated on the North-Eastern border of Tarangire National Park, 20 km South of the village of Makuyuni (itself on the main tourist road to the Serengeti national park). The local village is called Mswakini Juu. The 80 ha property borders an important migration route of elephants, zebra´s and other animals. The area is locally called “the small Serengeti plain”. Most of the land is kept natural. At the Northern edge we built our luxurious boutique lodge and our science center. Ecoscience is set in a very fragile savannah environment
Mbuzi Mawe Tented Camp
Located in a scenic glade known as ‘the place of the klipspringer' (mbuzi mawe), this luxury tented camp is uniquely and cleverly placed at the very epicenter of the Serengeti. The sixteen large custom-made canvas tents are widely spaced throughout the rocky glades of the camp. Reached by winding stone paths, each tent stands on a stone platform and has its own thatched roof. Opening off the spacious bedroom, is a tented bathroom, which features twin basins, shower and flushed WC. The main bedroom area features two queen-sized four-poster beds, each with all encompassing mosquito nets
