Itinerary

Arrival in Tanzania - Day 1

Upon your arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport, you will be greeted and taken to your lodge for the evening.

Day 2A: Visit to Lake Manyara National Park

On Day 2A, embark on a drive to the “Mto wa Mbu” village for an immersive cultural tour of the local farming community. You will visit farms, schools, churches, and markets and interact with the 18,000 residents of this area, who come from 120 different tribes. Witness the skilled Makonde carpenters as they craft intricate wooden household items, masks, and figurines. Take the opportunity to visit local markets and put your bargaining skills to use when buying produce, meats, and spices from the vendors’ stalls. Please note that between June and October, AA Safaris recommends visiting Tarangire National Park instead on Day 2.

Tarangire National Park - Day 2B

Begin your morning with a game drive in Tarangire National Park, known for its large herds of elephants that congregate at the Tarangire River for water. The park also offers an abundance of bird-watching opportunities, with over 500 bird species. It is the only location in Tanzania where you can spot gerenuk and oryx, and it boasts the largest wildlife population outside of the Serengeti.

Drive through the Serengeti - Day 3

Experience the Serengeti National Park, one of the tour’s highlights, known for its vast wild game population and unspoiled ecosystem. The park has three sections: the North (Lobo area), South (Seronera Valley), and West Corridor. The Great Wildebeest Migration can be observed in the North area, considered one of the most captivating natural events in the world. Afterwards, return to your hotel for the evening.

Full-Day Game Drives in Serengeti National Park - Day 4

Embark on a full-day excursion in the Serengeti, with the opportunity for close-up encounters during the game drives. To maximize the chances of seeing predators, we will set off early in the morning when they have just woken up and are hunting. Visit the Seronera Valley, known for its lion and mongoose populations. A pre-packed picnic lunch will be provided.

Optional activity: Hot Air Balloon Safari

Soar above the picturesque landscapes of the Serengeti with a bird’s-eye view. This safari activity takes place early in the morning while it’s still dark, allowing you to witness nocturnal animals heading to the water’s edge to drink. Enjoy a bush breakfast with champagne in the middle of the park.

Game Drives in the Serengeti National Park and Ngorongoro Crater - Day 5

Today’s itinerary includes a morning game drive in the Serengeti National Park, followed by a drive to Ngorongoro Crater for an afternoon game drive. Inside the crater, you will have the chance to see cheetahs, jackals, Thompson’s gazelle, flamingos, and the Big 5 (lions, elephants, buffalos, rhinos, and leopards). Additionally, birders will have the opportunity to spot around 400 bird species during the drive.

Departure - Day 6

Depending on the departure time of your international flight, you may have the opportunity to participate in an optional activity to conclude the safari.

Optional activity: Ngorongoro Highland Walks

Explore the scenic area that combines culture and wildlife with a guided walk led by an armed ranger. Discover volcanoes, forests, and craters all in one place and encounter the Masai people who inhabit the area’s highlands.

If you do not want your tour to end, inform your AA Safaris tour consultant to book you another tour in a different destination in Africa.

Arumeru River Lodge
Upon arrival at this lodge, you will immediately sense the warmth and personal touch of the German owners. The lodge, which is built on an old coffee plantation, features a grand entrance with various areas for relaxation and dining. The cottages are well-maintained and designed with a blend of African and European materials. You will undoubtedly appreciate the sophistication and elegance of this distinguished lodge.
Escarpment Luxury Lodge
This beautiful lodge is situated on the rift Escarpment on the edge of Lake Manyara N.P. The spacious cottages have an en-suite bathroom with bathtub and outdoor shower! This lodge has a swimmingpool as well. A spreading deck surrounding the main lodge affords you breathtaking views of the lake and the gorge upon which the lodge perches watch pelican sweep the skies as you take sundowners, see the sun slip like a segment of orange into the hills and listen to the sounds of Africa nestle up to you as night slides in.
Eco Science Luxury Lodge
The Ecoscience property is located on the northeastern border of Tarangire National Park, 20 km south of the village of Makuyuni, which is on the main tourist road to the Serengeti National Park. The local village is called Mswakini Juu. The 80 ha property borders an important migration route for elephants, zebras, and other animals. The area is locally referred to as "the small Serengeti plain." Most of the land is kept in its natural state. At the northern edge, we have constructed our luxurious boutique lodge and science center. Ecoscience is situated in a very delicate savannah environment.
Mbuzi Mawe Tented Camp
Nestled in a picturesque glade known as "the place of the klipspringer" (mbuzi mawe), this luxury tented camp is strategically located at the heart of the Serengeti. The camp features sixteen large, custom-made canvas tents spread out among the rocky glades. Accessible by winding stone paths, each tent sits on a stone platform and has its own thatched roof. The spacious bedroom opens to a tented bathroom, equipped with twin basins, shower and flush toilet. The main bedroom area has two queen-size four-poster beds, each with an all-encompassing mosquito net.

A small and exclusive lodge facing the Oldeani Volcano, only 5 kilometers from the Ngorongoro Lolduare gate, was built to offer our clients an original experience reminiscent of the atmosphere of the old days. Offering 52 room cottages, 49 standard rooms and 3 suite rooms, all with ample space inside, built on the style of an old colonial farm and rustically decorated with local materials and full of details of good taste, with the purpose of offering our clients an imaginary journey to the life of the days gone.
