Itinerary

Arrival in Tanzania: Day 1

Begin your journey in Tanzania with a pick-up from Kilimanjaro International Airport and a comfortable drive to your lodge for the evening. During the months of January to May or November to December, on the second day, we will take you on a tour to Lake Manyatta National Park, a beautiful destination that you don’t want to miss.

Exploring Lake Manyara National Park: Day 2A

On Day 2, venture out of the park and take a cultural tour of “Mto wa Mbu” village. Explore the farming community, visit schools, churches, markets, and interact with the 18,000 locals from 120 different tribes. See the skilled Makonde carpenters as they craft intricate wooden household items, masks, and figurines. Experience the local markets, and put your bargaining skills to the test as you shop for vegetables, fruits, meat, and spices. Between June and October, AA Safaris recommends visiting Tarangire National Park on Day 2 instead.

Discovering Tarangire National Park: Day 2B

Begin your day with an exciting game drive in Tarangire National Park, known for its large herds of elephants that congregate at the Tarangire River to drink. With over 500 bird species to observe, it’s a birdwatcher’s paradise. This park is also the only place in Tanzania where you can spot the unique gerenuk and oryx. Additionally, Tarangire boasts one of the largest wildlife populations outside of the Serengeti.

Explore the Serengeti on Day 3

Explore the renowned Serengeti National Park, one of the tour’s main highlights. Known for its vast wild game population and untouched ecosystem, the Serengeti offers three distinct regions to visit: the North (Lobo area), South (Seronera Valley), and the West Corridor. The North is particularly notable for its annual wildebeest migration, considered one of the most incredible natural phenomena in the world. After a day of adventure, return to your hotel for the evening.

Spend a Full Day on Game Drives in the Serengeti National Park on Day 4

“Experience the wild up close on a full-day excursion in the Serengeti National Park. Set out early in the morning when the predators are most active, and make sure to visit the Seronera Valley, known for its high concentration of lions and mongoose. A pre-packed picnic lunch will be provided for you to enjoy during the day.

As an added option, take a hot air balloon safari for an unforgettable birds-eye view of the park’s breathtaking scenery. This safari starts before dawn, giving you a chance to see nocturnal animals heading to water sources. Mid-flight, enjoy a bush breakfast with champagne in the heart of the park. The cost for this optional activity is $500 per person.”

Explore Game Drives in the Serengeti National Park and Ngorongoro Crater on Day 5

Experience the best of both worlds on Day 5 with game drives in the Serengeti National Park and the Ngorongoro Crater. Start the day off with a morning game drive, then head towards the crater for an afternoon game drive. The crater boasts an abundance of wildlife, including cheetahs, jackals, Thompson’s gazelle, flamingos, and the Big 5: lions, elephants, buffaloes, rhinos, and leopards. Birdwatching enthusiasts can also spot over 400 bird species. The Ngorongoro Crater offers a truly unique wildlife viewing experience that can’t be missed.

Day 6: Departure

Make the most of your last day before departing by opting for the Ngorongoro Highland walks as an optional activity. Explore volcanoes, forests, craters, and meet the Masai people who inhabit the highlands. End your safari on a high note and make lasting memories.
